Chapter 32

Melinda chimed in. "Elite Tots Academy only takes well-rounded kids. They definitely don't want any brats."

Shirley was fuming, stomping her foot and grabbing Randy, who had been silent. "Randy, say something! Are you just gonna stand there and let them bully me?"

Randy had something to say but hesitated. He looked at Kathie."Kathie.what's your deal with Keith?"

Kathie was taken aback. She had heard of Keith, the notorious playboy of Eldoría, a rich kid known for his extravagant lifestyle and countless women. He was infamous for his flirtatious behavior.

Shirley caught on and sneered. "No wonder your kids got in. You pulled some strings, didn't you? Keith loves beauniful women. Kathie, I really underestimated you!"

Kathie shot her a glare. "Shirley, did you eat something terrible for breakfast? Your breath is so bad, and what you're saying is really off-putting."

"You! If what I said isn't true, then why is he involved in your business?"Shirley wouldn't let it go.

Kathie warned coldly. "I don't even know Keith. Don't slander me.or I'll sue you for defamation."

Randy was skeptical. When the school changed its rules, he was curious. It was a tradition for decades, and suddenly it was gone. He did some digging and found out Keith was involved. Although Keith was on the board. he didn't have the authority to make such changes.Plus,Keith didn t have kids, so why would he care about the rules?

The only explanation was that Keith was helping Kathie.

Shirley continued sarcastically, "I bet you can't admit it. You're stringing Randy along while secretly seducing Keith. And you have another man waiting at home. How do you manage it all?"

Kathie laughed, "I can't handle it all, so I dumped Randy, that useless jerk,on you. Do you like himn?"

Shirley's face turned blue with anger. "Kathie, don't go too far."

"I have the skills to play them like puppets. Do you? You're only fit for trash like Randy." Kathie insulted both of them.

Melinda clapped. "Well said. Trashy men for trashy women. Shirley, you and Randy should stay together forever and not harm anyone else. Kathie, let's go get some snacks. My treat."

"Sure, I'm in a good mood today. My treat." Kathie, smiling, linked arms with Melinda and walked past the fuming Shirley, who was shaking with rage. The worst part was Randy didn't defend her.

Shirley was on the verge of breaking down. "I can't take it anymore. They always mock me. Randy Berkeley, when will you divorce her? Do you even want to be with me?"

Randy felt a bit reluctant. Kathie was still very attractive to him.

He said, "I'll divorce her, but you keep provoking Kathie and bringthis on yourself."

"She just called you trash. Aren't you mad?"

Randy sighed, "I wronged her back then. I deserve a few insults. Stop being so petty."

Shirley hit his arm hard. People around them gave disapproving looks, so

Randy pulled her into a corner to avoid further embarrassment.

In the café. Melinda couldn't wait to ask, "Kathie, do you really have something going on with Keith?"

Kathie was exasperated. "Why are you asking too?"

Melinda was excited. "I heard Keith was involved when the school changed its rules. He's our headhunter company's boss and owns a nightclub and international hotel. He's a big deal."

Not only that, Keith had connections in both the underworld and with authorities. He was a prominent figure in Eldoria.

Kathie thought carefully and shook her head. "I really don't know him."

Melinda persisted, "Think harder. Maybe you met him and forgot. He might have a crush on you and helped when he heard you were in trouble.

Kathie was silent.

"My dear friend, I've been abroad for years. How could I have crossed paths with him?" she replied.

"He travels a lot too. Could he be the father of your three kids? If so, you'd be my boss's wife, and you could look out for me," Melinda said.

Kathie stuffed a piece of cake into her mouth. "Melinda, stop dreaming. That's never going to happen."

Melinda sighed. She knew it was impossible but couldn't help hoping.

In Kathie's small yard in the suburbs of Eldoria, a tall, handsome man .was pacing in the living room. When his gaze fell on Jonathan, he tried to hide his expression but couldn't help laughing. "Well, the mighty CEO Jonathan, look at you now. Stuck in this small place, in a wheelchair, with messy hair. I really feel for you."

Jonathan frowned. "I don't see your sympathy. I see a lot of gloating."

Keith laughed for a while before stopping. It was rare to see the invincible Jonathan like this, so he had to tease him.

"But it's good you're alive. I'm waiting for you to make a comeback."

"Don't worry. I won't let those people off."

Keith was pleased with his fighting spirit. "So, Kathie and those three kids have been taking care of you?"

Jonathan was annoyed. "It's just Kathie taking care of me."

He had been looking after the kids more, though they did bring him medicine and food. He didn't want Keith to know, or he'd never hear the end of it.

"Have you two grown closer?" Keith teased.

Jonathan glared at him. Keith shrugged and pointed at the photos on the TV cabinet. "I was shocked when I saw these photos. Those kids look so much like you."

Jonathan nodded. "They do, but Kathie isn't the woman from back then."

Keith sighed, "True. I did send you a beauty back then, and you never thanked me."

Jonathan threw a cup at him. "You have the nerve to bring that up. You drugged me."

"Don't be mad. As a friend, I didn't want to see you single. Didn't you enjoy that night?" Jonathan couldn't deny it. That night was unforgettable.

Keith examined the photos again. "These kids look so much like you. If they're not yours, could they be related to the Berkeley family? Should we check your cousins?"

"Mind your own business."

"Alright, I'll listento you."

Seeing Jonathan in this state, Keith decided not to tease him anymore.

Two hours later, the interview was over.

The three kids came out hand in hand. Eileen raised her hand to speak.

"Mommy, the teacher praised us a lot."

"The teacher said they can't wait to see us again."

"Mommy, the teacher realy liked us and kept talking to us."

Kathie hugged her three kids. "You were amazing. I knew you'd do great."

They laughed and chatted, while behind them, Shirley and her son were arguing.

"Mommy, they're all bad people. They called me mean. I want to hit them,"Bob said fiercely.

Shirley glared at him and slapped him across the face.
