Chapter 64
Gavin was intimidated by his gaze but still asked. "Do you want me to bring Charlotte to you now? From what I heard, you upset her just now."
Frederick didn't speak, his eyes falling on the thermos.
He reached out and opened the thermos, the familiar aroma wafting through the air, stirring his appetite.
Frederick drank the porridge slowly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
"Frederick, don't you plan to explain? If Charlotte is heartbroken by you and leaves, you'll regret it. And I have to tell you,you mentioned yesterday that you were investigating Serena. You didn't give me the details, but those who knew the inside story are more injured than you. Is there a connection?"
Gavin rarely got serious, and his tone was very stem.
He couldn't help but think more. Yesterday. Fredenick said he was investigating Serena, and today, everyone who knew the details was injured. The least injured. Frederick, lost his memory, and the others are still in danger.
"What could be wrong with Serena? She became a vegetable to save me and just woke up not long agro."
Frederick frowned in displeasure, unwilling to discuss Serena. "Maybe I'm overthinking." Gavin felt a bit deflated and asked before leaving."Are you sure you don't want me to find Charlotte and bring her here so you two can talk?" Frederick remained silent, just drinking his porridge.
Gavin sighed inwardly, understanding, and went downstairs to drive to Frederick and Charlotte's house.
He knew Frederick well. When he asked if he should bring Charlotte,Frederick didn't explicitly say no, which meant yes.
'Frederick is a stubborn man.
Gavin grumbled all the way. When he arrived at the villa, he didn't see Frederick but saw Serena instead.
Serena saw him too, and a look of disgust flashed in her eyes.
"What are you doing here? Did Frederick ask you to pick mne up? No need,I'll have Ryan take me. You can leave!"
Serena immediately tried to send him away.
Serena had a strong dislike for Gavin. Since she met Frederick, Gavin always opposed whatever she did, which made Serena dislike him,
Whenever Frederick wanted to meet Gavin, she would interfere.
Seeing his face again after five years, Serena still felt repulsed. Gavin's face darkenéd, and he sneered, "Who said I came for you? Don't be so shameless. This villa was a wedding gift from Frederick's grandmother to him and Charlotte. I am here, of course, to see Charlotte. What does it have to do with you?" "Gavin! Are you looking for trouble?" Serena glared at him, "Are you so close to Charlotte because you had an affair with her?"
At that moment, a female voice came from upstairs.
"Serena,try spreading rumors again."
Charlotte appeared at the top of the stairs, her presence intimidating Serena into silence.
"Mrs.Percy."
Gavin called out, smiling brightly at Charlotte, but only received a cold look in return.
Charlotte looked down at him from upstairs, her voice cold, "I don't like that title."
Since returning,Charlotte had been packing her things, reminding herself not to covet anything that wasn't hers. She consideredFrederick's previous tenderness as her fantasy.
She was just waiting for Frederick to recover so she could divorce him. No matter what happened, she wouldn't believe him again.
"Then I'll call you Charlotte. I have something to discuss wvith you. Can I come upstairs?"
Gavin wanted to explain Frederick's current situation to Charlotte. He wanted to clear up any misunderstandings Charlotte might have about Frederick. Although Frederick did say some hurtful words to her in the hospital, because he had lost some of his memory. Clearing up the misunderstanding could resolve things. "Say it here." Charlotte intended to leave. She didn't want to see anyone related to Frederick.
But she remembered the time she got drunk at a bar. If Gavin hadn't seen her, she might have ended up with a stranger, endangering her unborn child.
Thinking of this, Charlotte decided to listen but wouldn't let him in alone.
Serena could fabricate stories even when there was nothing. If they were alone, she would accuse them of something.
Gavin looked at Charlotte, then at Serena, feeling helpless.
He said, "Can you come with me now? Frederick's situation isn't good. You two are still married. If there's a misunderstanding, it needs to be resolved. Frederick has a bad temper and doesn't let others touch him."
Gavin tried to make Frederick seem pitiful, hoping to gain Charlotte's sympathy.
"He only thinks of me when he needs someone to take care of him?"
Charlotte sneered, pointing at Serena. "Let her go. They're so in love.Frederick has already said he wants a divorce. I don't want to see him now."
"No, it's not like that!" Gavin was so anxious that he scratched his head. He wanted to tell Charlotte that Frederick's reaction had a reason, but with Serena there, he couldn't say it. What if it alerted her? "If it's not like that, then what? If you don't say, leave." Charlotte's patience was running out, seeing Gavin's hesitation. Serena, however, sensed what Gavin wanted to say.
Gavin must have discovered Frederick's memory loss and wanted to mediate.
Serena's eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing.
She stepped forward, smiling. "Frederick needs care? Hle was just worried about my health and had Ryan bring me back to rest. But if he needs me,I'll go to the hospital with you, Gavin."
Gavin glared at her and thought, 'I'm trying to persuade Charlotte, so why is Serena interfering?
