Charlotte felt a wave of emotion and gently laid her head on Anouk's knee.

"Thanks for getting me," she said.

Her feelings were real, not just for show.

Charlotte used to think that even though she grew up in the countryside,her parents and Juniper really loved her. But her last trip home shattered that belief.

Turns out, the so-called family love was hiding some shocking truths.

Lately, Charlotte had been in a funk, not just because of Frederick but also because of her family. Losing that family warmth,she found comfort in Anouk.

Charlotte's phone buzzed.

She wiped her tears and checked her phone,seeing it was Frederick calling.

She glanced up and saw Anouk looking at the phone too, clearly noticing the call.

Feeling a bit awkward, Charlotte answered.

"Come back right now!" Frederick's voice was heavy, like he was struggling with something.

Charlotte frowned, sensing something was off with him.

But hearing his demanding tone, she didn't want to just take it, especially in front of Anouk. "I'm still sick.I'll come back when I'm better."

"Charlotte, don't make me mad. Come back now! I feel really weird, and you need to come back to... help me."

Charlotte gripped the phone tight, hoping Anouk didn't hear his crude words.

She was also shocked. Frederick was usually energetic, but never this impatient.

Anouk didn't want to meddle in their private stuff, but she could hear Frederick yelling.

Her face darkened. She motioned for Charlotte to put the call on speaker,worried Charlotte was being mistreated.

Charlotte refused.

But the more hesitant Charlotte was, the more Anouk believed Frederick was bullying her.

Anouk grabbed the phone and heard Serena's flirty voice on the other end.

"Stop it! You're huring me. Be gentle."

Then the call ended.

Anouk's face turned grim.

She never expected the usually calm Frederick to be so wild!

Charlotte heard Serena's voice too, but she stayed much calmer than Anouk. She took back her phone, her quiet demeanor making Anouk feel even more heartbroken.

Anouk slapped the armrest of her wheelchair and said firmly, "Let's go, we're catching him in the act! You haven't divorced yet. How dare he treat you like this!"

With that, Anouk signaled the caregiver to push her out of the ward.

Charlotte's eyes widened, full of confusion and helplessness.

'Did I hear that right? Anouk wants to catch Frederick in the act?'

On the sofa, Frederick tossed the phone aside and grabbed Serena's hand.

His eyes were bloodshot, his brows furrowed deeply, and he asked, "Did you do something to me?"

Serena was already limp, her whole body like jelly.

Serena's hot body kept trying to get close to Frederick,but he held her hand tightly, keeping her at bay, which only made her more uncomfortable.

"What could I have done to you? Frederick, ever since we got back from the hospital, I've felt so weird. It's like tiny ants are biting me all over.What should I do? Help me," she pleaded.

At this point, Serena's chest was almost fully exposed in front of Frederick.Though not as curvy as Charlotte's, it was still delicate and enticing.

Serena tried to rub her breast against Frederick's arm.

Seeing her like this, Frederick's suspicion of her eased a bit. If Serena had drugged him,she wouldn't risk her unborn child for such a scheme.

"What did you come into contact with at the hospital?" Frederick asked,feeling his penis painfully swollen, desperate for release but still wanting answers.

Serena twisted her waist, not missing a chance to smear Charlotte. "We were together the whole time. At the hospital, we only went to Charlotte's ward. Could it be that Charlotte did it on purpose? Is she trying to use this aphrodisiac to harm my baby?" shesaid pitifully.

Frederick's mind was in turmoil. If not for his strong willpower, he would have already turned into a wolf and devoured Serena. The incessant desire made his mind sluggish, and for a moment, he actually believed Serena's words. Could Charlotte really have drugged them?

Seeing Frederick in a daze, Serena got bolder. Her hand moved up Frederick's thigh, igniting his desire, boldly rubbing his penis through his pants. Any other man would have pounced on her by now. But Frederick still refused to touch her.
