Chapter 479

Evelyn paused for a brief moment. The truth had already been revealed to her the previous night—Danielle was the mastermind behind it all.

With a hint of sorrow in her voice, she confessed, "I know Danielle was the one who made the anonymous report."

Sophia nodded. "Then why am I even telling you this? It was actually one of our classmates who tipped me off."

"She saw Danielle getting cozy with a wealthy socialite and suddenly flaunting designer bags and high-end makeup in the dorm."

"A socialite?" Evelyn's brows furrowed.

Her thoughts immediately went to Victoria. She knew Danielle wouldn’t act without a motive.

Sophia pulled out her phone. "I even found photos for proof. It’s definitely her—Victoria Sinclair, the woman trying to steal your husband."

Evelyn’s breath hitched. "Yes, that’s Victoria."

She recognized Victoria instantly in the images.

Yet, throughout this time, Evelyn hadn’t noticed anything amiss. Danielle had always played the role of a loyal friend in front of her.

"Sophia, thank you for telling me."

"Evelyn, you never know what schemes these rich people are plotting. Be careful."

"Once your exams are over, I suggest you leave Bern City immediately. That woman won’t be able to touch you once you’re gone."

Evelyn smiled warmly and hugged her friend. "I’m so lucky to have you watching my back. Once I’m settled in Nord City, you have to come visit."

Since Sophia had to return to work, their conversation was brief, and they soon parted ways.

Not long after, Theodore summoned Evelyn to his office to discuss the previous day’s incident. But Danielle was nowhere to be found.

Danielle’s advisor explained, "I haven’t been able to reach her. Apparently, she didn’t return to her dorm last night."

"Danielle has always been a bit of a loner, detached from reality. She often believes she’s being ostracized because she’s an orphan."

"In truth, everyone’s just busy with graduation season and doesn’t have time to pay her much attention."

Hearing this, Evelyn realized just how isolated Danielle truly was.

She couldn’t help but scold herself for letting her emotions cloud her judgment. Their shared background as orphans had made her sympathetic.

At first, she had believed Danielle’s claims of being mistreated. But now, it was clear Danielle had been manipulating her all along.

Glancing at the clock, Evelyn sighed. "Forget it. Let the university handle this matter. I need to get back to studying."

With Danielle being used as a pawn by Victoria, Evelyn felt no need to extend any further sympathy.

Meanwhile, Victoria waited eagerly at the airport for Nathaniel’s arrival. Today was crucial for her plans.

If she could successfully manipulate Danielle into discrediting Evelyn as the Montgomery heiress, everything would fall perfectly into place.

Soon, a group emerged from the VIP corridor.

Alexander and Olivia led the way, followed closely by Sebastian and Daniel, the latter disguised in a hat and mask.

Victoria greeted them with a practiced smile. "Alexander, Sebastian, Daniel."

Daniel scoffed. "Don’t address me like that. You were never officially part of our family. Now that we’ve found our real sister, maybe it’s time for you to start packing."

His harsh words made Victoria’s eyes flicker with suppressed anger.

"I’ve always known my place as a foster daughter. I never once thought of replacing the true Montgomery heiress."

"I’m grateful for everything you’ve given me, which is why I’ve spent years searching for her. Every lead I’ve found, I’ve brought to you immediately."

Daniel smirked. "Who’s to say you didn’t plant someone to deceive us?"

Victoria’s gaze darkened briefly before she turned to Alexander. "How could you even suggest something so vile? Alexander, you believe me, don’t you?"
