Chapter 246

Unless she had been here before.

Victoria's gaze lingered on the sleek black sedan parked near the curb, her brows knitting together in thought. She'd seen that car before—its vanity license plate reading "Felicity" had caught her attention weeks ago. At the time, she hadn't paid it much mind, but now, standing here, an unsettling familiarity settled over her.

Was that this woman's name?

The woman—presumably Felicity—let out a quiet sigh before turning, only to freeze when her eyes locked onto Victoria.

Victoria's breath hitched. The resemblance was uncanny. Felicity's features mirrored Lillian's almost perfectly—except for the striking emerald hue of her eyes, the slightly sharper cheekbones, and the softer curve of her jaw. It was a haunting similarity, one that sent an inexplicable chill down Victoria's spine.

Felicity's lips parted in shock, her tear-streaked face flushing crimson. She looked as though she wanted to speak, but before Victoria could utter a word, she stammered, "I—I'm sorry. I shouldn't be here."

Without another moment's hesitation, Felicity spun on her heel and rushed to her car, her movements frantic. The engine roared to life, and within seconds, she was gone—leaving Victoria standing there, heart pounding, questions swirling in her mind.
