Chapter 53

Even though she knew it was probably a bluff, Emily instinctively stopped him.

She leaned in close to James, grabbing his hand. "I'll keep it. James, you're really over the top."

Emily bit her lip, feeling a mix of emotions. A gift worth 100 million dollars? She'd have to repay it someday. The thought was already giving her a headache.

At Crystal Valley Manor, Emily stashed away the gems, and James hugged her from behind, his voice rough as he asked,"Did you miss me?"

James clung to Emily, kissing her softly on the ear, whispering her name like he was trying to enchant her. Emily couldn't resist his touch and turned to kiss him back. Their lips locked.

James started to undress her business suit with a hint of seduction. Her shirt was halfway unbuttoned, the buttons caught between her breasts. He squeezed her breasts, making the shirt barely cover her nipples.

Her slim figure, highlighted by her delicate waist and the A-line skirt's flattering cut, added up with the half-revealing private parts, was extremely tempting.

James stood behind her, his strong hands slipping into the wide neckline, kneading her full breasts. Emily's eyes were misty, a blush spreading across her beautiful face and nose. Emily slowly climbed onto him, feeling unusually good. James' intense gaze stayed on Emily. He brushed her hair off her back, kissing her fragrant shoulders, his cool lips kissing lightly and slowly, as if expressing his longing from the past few days.

But Emily felt a burning sensation wherever he kissed her, her skin heating up.

James put his hand between her legs, the area that was already wet with passion. He rubbed her labia a few times before sliding in two fingers.

James'fingers were a bit rough. Emily frowned, her watery eyes staring at him. James pulled his hand back, his already hard penis thrusting in.

Her body flushed with excitement. Unable to bear the stimulation, Emily let out a soft moan.

Then, she whispered in James' ear, "I've missed you too."

That night was destined to be wild.

The next morning, Emily was late for work.

At noon, Emily got a call from Mia. She said, "Take the afternoon off,and I'll take you out to buy a dress."

Emily's eyes lit up with joy, and she quickly agreed. "Okay,"

Mia and Emily met at the mall, where all the stores were high-end luxury brands.

Even though Veda wasn't there this time, she seemed to be everywhere.Every time they entered a store, Mia would tell the salesperson when she saw a nice dress, "Wrap this up and send it to Veda."

Emily clenched her hands, following Mia as they went to several stores. Then a salesperson asked, "Are you two sisters? You look so alike."

Emily smiled. "She's my mom."

The salesperson smiled. "Ma'am, you look so young. Here are the latest dresses from our brand, and you can pick one."

Mia noticed Emily and asked, "What color do you like?"

Emily wasn't really in the mood for dress shopping, but she didn't want to kill Mia's vibe, so she randomly picked out two outfits.

She tried on a bright red dress with a large cut-out back. Mia's eyes deepened when she noticed the marks on Emily's back.

She never realized Emily had such a great figure. Even with minimal makeup, Emily was stunning.

The dress itself wasn't anything special, but on Emily, it looked amazing.

The salesperson's eyes lit up. "Ma'am, your daughter is gorgeous. She makes the dress look even better."

Mía nodded, her eyes flickering, not showing too much happiness.

Mia said, "Don't wear clothes that are too flashy."

Emily glanced at her, keeping her thoughts to herself. She changed into a black dress, which made her look like a dazzling black rose.

The salesperson, clearly enjoying how beautiful Emily looked, clapped his hands. "You're stunning. Miss, do you want both outfits wrapped up?"

Emily looked at Mia, who seemed lost in thought and didn't say anything.

Emily said directly, "No, thank you."

After leaving the store, Emily asked Mia, "Mom, are you afraid I'll outshine Veda?"

Mia's face looked a bit unpleasant, having her thoughts seen through.

She gave Emily a glare without anyone noticing, finally saying, "No. By the way, have you gotten back together with John?"

"What do you think, Mom?"

"If you wanted to break up with him, then just get a divorce."

Emily's heart ached. "So you came here today to be Veda's advocate?"

Mia frowned, displeased. "As your mom, I'm just hoping you'll seriously consider your future."

Emily gave a bitter smile. "My future was ruined three years ago when John was called away by Veda. Why didn't you come to ask me back then?"

Mia didn't like being questioned by Emily. Her brow furrowed. "Emily,Veda is your sister. You shouldn't hold a grudge against her."

Emily closed her eyes, smiling bitterly."I think we don't need to continue shopping. Mom, let me take you back."

Mia didn't say anything, following Emily to the underground parking lot. Before they could get in the car, Isolde ran over.

"Emmy, it's Mom. Emmy, give me some money, and I won't tell anyone about that thing."

Isolde's sudden appearancestartled Emily. She instinctively stood in front of Mia, preventing Isolde from bumping into her.

Mia held Emily's hand and whispered, "Ignore her. Let's go back first."

Mia had brought bodyguards with her, and they quickly took Isolde away.

As Emily followed Mia into the car, Mia suddenly asked, "Emily, were you really violated by Lucas?"

Emily never expected to hear this question from Mia.

She teared up instantly, staring at Mia.

Mia couldn't meet her gaze.
