Chapter 29

"Emily.say my name."

Her voice shook, "James Smith."

James lit up with joy, and Emily seemed to get it too.

In the three years they'd been together, Emily had never called James's name in bed. Maybe she had, but she couldn't remember. She didn't realize it mattered so much to him.

Suddenly. James lifted her into the air, her slender legs swaying gently.

If he loosened his grip even a bit, Emily would fall, her body hitting his hip bone hard, and his thick, hard penis would penetrate her silken depths.

Emily had never gone this wild before, unable to stop screaming and moaning, her nails digging into James's back.

"James, stop. Put me down."

Emily's breasts swayed constantly. Her legs were spread wide apart, a strong sense of shame making her shake her head urgently.

Being squeezed by Emily, James was overwhelmed and released with a muffled groan.

He carried her back to the bathroom. Knowing she had worked hard on sketches today, he didn't push for sex in the bathroom. After cleaning up,James held Emily as they fell asleep.

The only difference was that he had become the unattainable heir of a major conglomerate from the man she kept outside.

Emily woke up to bright daylight. James beside her was no longer there. She thought he had gone to work, since the CEO of such a large company must be very busy every day.

But when she went downstairs after getting ready, she found James in the kitchen making breakfast. Emily was slightly stunned, not expecting him to be so domesticated.

She watched as he brought over the porridge he had cooked. Dressed in a white shirt, black pants, and a sleeve garter on his arm, he had broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs, giving him an abstinent and aloof appearance.

She couldn't connect him with the wild man from last night in any way.

"Emily, were you satisfied last night? Are my skills at bed unmatched?"

James met her gaze. His sudden question made Emily slow to react.

Emily blinked. "What?"

"You were seducing me early in the morning. Were you not satisfied last night? We can go again."

He lightly bit his lip, looking Emily up and down with a hint of mischief in his eyes.

Emily rolled her eyes and thought, 'Your nature never changes.

She got up and picked his jaw. "Next time, remember to call me Ms.Johnson. As for whether your skills was unmatched last night, I don't have a comparison partner to know that."

James ended up with a dark expression, just as Emily wanted. She leaned

in and kissed the corner of his lips, smiling. "I'm off to work."

When Emily arrived at the company, everyone was there. She held a brief meeting and realized that Nora was absent.

She found a colleague who was close to Nora and asked, "Why didn't Nora come to work today?"

The colleague looked awkward and said, "Last night, she tried to seduce the boss of Empire Glance for a collaboration, but got beaten up by his wife. HR found the incident despicable and fired her on the spot. She went to the boss's party last night and even got the police involved, tarnishing our reputation."

In a workplace where pack mentality ruled and many had long-standing grievances against Nora, no one felt sorry for her dismissal.

At the high-level meeting at noon, Emily was present, and Wilder had returned. John was no longer the meeting host, sitting on the side.Without any company shares, his position had been demoted by Wilder, rendering him powerless.

Wilder got straight to the point at the meeting. "Veda has been fired."

John was the first to express dissatisfaction. "Dad! Why didn't you discuss this with me?"

"Why should I discuss it with you? Are you the president of the company?

Being humiliated in public, John's face was extremely unpleasant.

Wilder continued, "From now on, Emily is the only director in the Design Department."

No one opposed it.

After the meeting. Veda appeared outside the meeting room. Her eyes were red as she looked at Wilder. "Mr. Wilder Williams."

Wilder didn't even glance at her, taking Emily to his office.Veda could only turn to John.

In the office, Emily said softly, "Dad, I have a request that I hope you can agree to."

"Go ahead." Wilder spoke much more gently.

Emily took a deep breath and said, "Let Veda stay. I still have some conflicts with her, and it's easier to handle them when she's under my watch."

Wilder was taken aback. In his understanding, Emily had always been non-confrontational, but now it seemed like she had a fighting spirit.

Wilder felt somewhat relieved. "You finally know how to fight back."

Emily forced a smile. In the eyes of the Williams family, had she always been so weak?

"Okay, let her stay."

"Thank you,Dad."

"That's what I should do. We have failed you."

Emily shook her head, wrapping her hands around his arm. "You and Mom have been very good to me. It's I who have let you both down."

Wilder ruffled Emily's head. "If you encounter any difficulties at work, just

come to me directly."

Emily nodded.

After Emily left the office, John was about to go in when his phone suddenly rang. He looked down and saw a message from Wilder: [I agree to let Veda stay in the Design Department, but she can only start as a designer's assistant.]

Although John wanted to argue, he thought that Wilder's compromise was already a great act of leniency, so he just went to share the good news with Veda.

Veda wasn't particularly happy since she didn't want to become Emily's subordinate.

But as long as she could stay at the Williams Group, it was enough for her.Veda sighed deeply, thinking, 'One day, I will trample Emily under my feet and never allow her to rise again!

In the following weeks, Emily worked tirelessly on the design proposal for Golden Birch Group.

After finalizing the design proposal, Golden Birch Group also secured a top-tier celebrity for endorsement.

Suddenly, the Williams Group's Diamond Glow became extremely popular.

Even the jewelry that hadn't sold well before started flying off the shelves. This made Wilder very happy.

As a designer's assistant, Veda couldn't even access the design proposals initially. She wasn't even allowed to attend the design department meetings.

Veda often complained to John, who was no longer at the Williams Group.

John felt powerless. The only comfort he could offer was to encourage her to work hard on her own.
