Chapter 416

Evelyn's brow furrowed deeply. "You really don't know? Julian's already been rescued by them," she stated coldly.

Victoria's face darkened as she shot Evelyn a suspicious glare.

Evelyn continued mercilessly, "They kidnapped two renowned researchers from Aldenria as bargaining chips to exchange for Julian."

"They specifically demanded Julian's release but left you rotting here. It wasn't that they couldn't save you - you're simply worthless to them. That's why they abandoned you."

Victoria's complexion turned ashen. "You're lying!" she screamed hysterically.

Evelyn remained impassive. "I've no reason to deceive you."

A bitter, mocking laugh escaped Victoria's lips.

Her voice trembled with barely contained rage as she spat, "I should have killed you when I had the chance! If I hadn't listened to Julian's orders to spare you, I wouldn't be in this hellhole now!"

Evelyn's eyes narrowed. "Was it you who tried to assassinate me repeatedly when you realized Liam was falling for me again?"

Tears of frustration welled up in Victoria's eyes as she sneered, "You always had the devil's own luck. Dodged every bullet like some damned cat with nine lives."

"Not only did I fail to kill you, but I even let you regain your memories. Fate truly enjoys screwing me over!"

Suddenly everything clicked for Evelyn.

Victoria's reckless actions could have exposed the entire operation - that's why Obsidian Circle had cut her loose without hesitation.

"Genevieve, where are my parents?" Evelyn demanded, still clinging to that fragile hope despite Julian's earlier claims.

Victoria froze, her expression turning unreadable.

Evelyn pressed urgently, "Tell me where they're keeping my parents!"

A cruel smirk twisted Victoria's lips. "I'll tell you everything... if you get me out of here."

Hope flared in Evelyn's chest. "They're alive then?"

"Oh yes, very much alive," Victoria taunted. "Your father is the sole heir to Aldenria's wealthiest dynasty."

"Our original plan was to replace you and claim the Wright family fortune. If that failed, we'd release your father to inherit everything, using your mother as leverage to transfer the assets to Julian."

"Do you really think Julian would let them die so easily?" Victoria gloated maliciously. "We even forced them to produce another heir - a perfect little bargaining chip."

Evelyn's heart shattered at the monstrous revelation. Her parents had been subjected to unspeakable horrors - imprisoned, violated, treated worse than breeding stock.

Victoria continued coldly, "Julian didn't trust your father's cooperation. Your mother's life alone wasn't enough collateral. He needed another hostage - hence your baby brother."

Evelyn's fists clenched until her nails drew blood. Through gritted teeth, she demanded, "Where. Are. They."

Victoria remained eerily calm. "Cassandra, get me out of here, and I'll tell you everything."

"Still under Julian's control?" Evelyn pressed.

Victoria's smile turned feral. "You'll never know unless you free me first."

Evelyn's expression darkened. After a tense silence, she realized the truth. "You don't actually know where they are, do you?"

"As an expendable asset with weak resolve, you'd be the first to break under interrogation. Julian's not stupid enough to leave you with that information."

Victoria's mask cracked. "You never intended to help me!" she shrieked. "This was all a trick to extract information!"

Evelyn hung up the phone without another word, her face an emotionless mask. As she turned to leave, Victoria's enraged screams echoed through the bulletproof glass, her face contorted in primal fury.

Evelyn didn't glance back. Rosalind fell into step behind her as they walked away from the raging storm contained within that cell.
