Chapter 75

Kathie shot him a contemptuous look and spat out, "You'll only embarrass yourself. And when I'm proven right. I expect apologies fromall of you."

"Such arrogance! I can't wait to see you leave in tears," Henry refused to believe her data could be correct.

Kathie stood confidently, waiting for him to verify it himself.

Henry took her report and began reviewing it step by step. Initially,it seemed chaotic, but the further he went, the more astonishing it became. She had managed to turn things around at critical points. Though some data looked unusual, everything checked out.

Incredulous, he tried three times, each yielding identical results. Even the onlookers were stunned.

Had everyone not seen her working diligently in the lab all morning, they wouldn't have believed she produced this work.

"How is this possible? It tookus a week to compile this data, yet you finished in half a day," Henry asked.

"Because your thinking is constrained," Kathie replied. "You all used a single approach, while I integrated multiple methodologies from comprehensive medicine, combined with my own experience. I boldly tried several variations and succeeded."

Everyone was astounded. Since Kathie had arrived at the research institute, they had witnessed her genius-her abiity to name over a thousand medicinal herbs.

She could instantly recall rare medicinals that would take them ages to look up on computers, and knew their properties too. This was beyond ordinary capability.

"I apologize for being so dismissive. I was wrong," Henry admitted.Though he disliked Kathie's lifestyle, he genuinely respected her abilities.

He had promised to apologize if he wronged her.

Others followed suit. apologizing and inviting her to stay.

Kathie, not being petty, agreed to remain after seeing their sincere entreaties.

Amelia had assumed Kathie was just a pretty face without substance. Now,seeing everyone's admiring glances at this genuinely talented woman, she worried that if Kathie stayed longer, she would captivate all the male doctors.

Back in her office, Amelia quickly composed a message and posted it online.

Kathie explained her methodology to everyone, winning their admiration.

Feeling their respect, she swelled with pride.

That afternoon, as Kathie went to the front desk for documents, she noticed female doctors and nurses giving her strange looks.

"That's her-the doctor who had an affair and an illegitimate child while married."

"She is beautiful, I heard she has several wealthy benefactors."

"She doesn't even have medical credentials. How did she get into our research institute?"

Kathie found these comments jarring. Were they talking about her?

Not wanting to make a scene, she approached the receptionist for her documents, only to have them thrown onto the floor, as if the woman

feared contamination from touching her.

Coldly. Kathie said, "You dropped them. Pick them up."

The receptionist responded with disgust, "Everyone here knows about your sordid affairs. It's revolting. Just don't seduce any of our male doctors.

Kathie pulled out her phone sternly, "Repeat what you just said--and this goes for anyone who's been pointing fingers at me. If you can't substantiate these claims, I'll sue you all for defamation."

Undeterred, the receptionist handed her a phone, "See for yourself. Your admirer beating up your husband, you two embracing, and a man dropping you off in a luxury car this morning. Can you deny any of this?"

Another receptionist chimed in, "That's clearly you. And everyone knows about your illegitimate child. Are we all lying?"

Kathie's fine eyebrows knitted together, murderous rage boiling inside her.

She never cared what others said about her, but she wouldn't tolerate her three precious children being dragged into this.

These messages had been posted to the institute's group chat-no wonder everyone had seen them.

But since she wasn't in the group yet, she had been completely blindsided.

In the video, only Bradley's faee was obscured, suggesting the source wanted to protect him. And only Amelia had seen Ben drop her off that morning.

"Use your brains and don't be manipulated," Kathie said sharply."'Standing on the wrong side will cost you dearly. I'll document every statement you make, and you can prepare for legal action."

Not wanting to waste more time. Kathie picked up her documents and left.

Back in her office, everyone's expressions told her they had seen the posts.

Henry frowned. "Dr. Cavendish. I respect your abilities, but please mind your personal life. Your affairs have become the institute's gossip."

"Exactly," Amelia added. "Many female doctors oppose her presence here.Didn't she say she wanted to leave earlier? Let's just let her go."

Kathie walked straight to her, "You posted those videos and rumors, didn't you? You're interested in Bradley and saw us getting close,so you decided to slander me."

Everyone turned to Amelia in surprise. Her crush on Bradley wasn't a secret in their circle-could she really have defamed Kathie for this reason?

Amelia panicked and denied it vehemently, "Stop making things up!I know nothing about this."

"Nothing?" Kathie said coldly. "Then would you let me check your phone or computer? Wrongdoings always leave traces. If I'm falsely accusing you,I'll apologize publicly."

Amelia raised her chin, "Why should I let you check anything?"

"Because I'm certain you did it, and I need a public apology from you,"Kathie insisted. She had to teach her a lesson, or Amelia would only escalate her behavior.

Angrily, Amelia retorted, "Your inappropriate conduct is a fact. How is that my fault?"

Kathie clenched her fists, "I'Il say it one more time: let me check, or I'm calling the police."

As the standoff continued, Henry intervened, "Dr. Cavendish, please

handle personal matters after work. Our project is urgent-focus on that."

Kathie took a deep breath. Despite her anger, she couldn't waste valuable work time.

She glared at Amelia. This wasn't over.

Amelia sighed with relief. She hadn't expected Kathie to be so bold.Rushing back to her office, she deleted all evidence to ensure nothing could be traced back to her.

At Maple Grove Residence, Randy arrived after being summoned by his cousin. He couldn't understand why Jonathan wanted to see him, but he came as requested.

Ben met him at the entrance. Randy still couldn't comprehend why Jonathan, despite not truly having amnesia, would choose to live,in such a place-it was completely incongruous with his status.

Even confined to a wheelchair, Jonathan's presence commanded more authority than Randy's.

"Jonathan, what did you want to see me about?"

"Sit down."

Randy carefully took a seat. Seeing Jonathan drinking tea, he hurriedly refilled his cup and asked with feigned concern, "How are your injuries?"

Jonathan replied coldly, "I'll get straight to the point. I hear Kathie wants a divorce and you're refusing unless she pays compensation. You're publicly disgracing the Berkeley family name."
