Chapter 86

Serena's crazed appearance made everyone avoid her.

These people weren't afraid of what she said; they just thought she was a madwoman abandoned by her benefactor and didn't want to get involved with her, so they stayed away.

"Charlotte, it's aIl your fault! You deserve to die!" Serena's eyes were dark, filled with resentment and unwillingness.

Even though these things had nothing to do with Charlotte,Serena still blamed everything on Charlotte.

If it weren't for Charlotte still holding onto the position of Frederick's wife, how could she be in such an awkward and illegitimate position now?

It was all Charlotte's fault. It was the existence of this woman that made her a laughingstock.

At this moment, Serena also forgot the task her master had given her, plotting in her heart how to take revenge on Charlotte. She must make Charlotte and the bastard in her belly pay for the humiliation she suffered today.

On the other side, Charlotte was also feeling miserable.

She hadn't spoken to Frederick the entire ride and didn't even want to look at him.

Several times Frederick tried to hold her hand, but she avoided him every time.

"What are you sulking about now?" Frederick's expression was cold, with a hint of anger.

Charlotte said angrily, "What right do I have to sulk? I'm just-a doormat between you and Serena."

Although Frederick had defended her in front of Serena earlier, his attitude was still unclear.

This emotional tug-of-war was driving her crazy.

Rather than this, she wished Frederick would give her a clean break.

"Do you know what you're saying? Charlotte, don't go too far. Do you know the consequences of your willfulness?" Frederick grabbed her wrist forcefully, completely unaware of why Charlotte was throwing a tantrum.

He had defended her earlier, and she didn't even thank him. Instead, she got angry, which was simply unreasonable.

"So what if I'm willful? Am I not even allowed to have normal human emotions? Frederick, I really can't understand you. Sometimes I feel like you love me, and we are so close, but other times you are so cold. You flirt with Serena while puling me along, making both women revolve around you, getting jealous and going crazy for you. Is this what you want?"

Charlotte didn't know why she suddenly got so angry.

When Frederick held her hand and left earlier, she saw Serena's expression when she looked back.

Serena's sinister and crazed look gave Charlotte a sense of impending doom. If she continued to entangle with Frederick, she feared she would become a madwoman like Serena."Charlotte!" Frederick shouted, his expression cold and dark, "Have I been spoiling you too much lately, making you forget your place?"

Frederick, disregarding the driver in front, pulled Charlotte over and tore open her collar, biting down on her.

The sudden change and intense shame made Charlotte panic.

Frederick gripped her neck tightly, biting hard as if he wanted to tear a piece of flesh from her.

Charlotte struggled desperately, the strong sense of suffocation making her afraid.

She had silently endured Frederick's sexual desires before, but today he did it in front of the driver, which crossed her bottom line.

Frederick bit her punitively, his hand about to reach into her clothes when he felt a heart-wrenching pain in his injured leg.

Charlotte had kicked him hard and quickly shrank to the other side, putting distance between them.

Charlotte looked at him warily.

Frederick's expression was terrifyingly dark. He hadn't expected Charlotte to strike him so hard.

After the doctor's careful treatment, he could walk normally without being noticed, but only if he didn't suffer a secondary injury.

Seeing his pained expression, Charlotte knew she had kicked too hard.

But in this situation, she couldn't back down or bow to him, or Frederick would do something even worse. The driver in the front didn't want to get involved, but seeing Frederick's expression, he had to speak up.

He asked. "Mr. Percy, should we go to the hospital?"

"Yes." Frederick answered, giving Charlotte a warning look.

Once he got his wound fixed, he would make Charlotte pay for her actions.

Charlotte felt the threat in his eyes, and a strong sense of unease rose in her heart.

"Unlock the door, I want to get out!" Charlotte pulled the door handle, but it didn't budge.

The driver felt confused; he couldn't make the decision and could only observe Frederick's expression through the rearview mirror.

Frederick's expression was dark, staring at Charlotte, gritting his teeth,"Charlotte, stop it! I need medical attention."

"I want to get out!" Charlotte reiterated her demand, the panic and fear in her eyes piercing Frederick.

He endured the pain, reaching out to calm her fear. "Are you afraid of me?

But before his hand could touch her, Charlotte forcefully knocked it away.

"Don't touch me! Let me out!" Charlotte's tears fell, her emotions so intense that even her breathing became rapid.

Frederick didn't understand why she was reacting so strongly this time, but her tears pained him. "Let her out." His voice was hoarse, filled with heartbreak and gloom.

"Yes." The driver didn't dare disobey, and despite the unsuitable location,he stopped and unlocked the door.

As soon as the door was unlocked, Charlotte got out and slammed the door shut.

The sound of the door slamming deeply struck Frederick's heart.

He watched Charlotte stummble towards the roadside, feeling that painful sting in his heart again.

Frederick clutched his chest, unable to describe the feeling at that moment.

This emotion felt very unfamiliar to him.

"Mr. Percy, should we go? Your leg can't wait." The driver spoke timidly.

"Drive." Frederick took one last look at Charlotte, who was now sitting on a roadside stone.

He closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat, feeling that the pain in his leg was nothing compared to the pain in his heart.

Had he done something wrong?

No,he would never'let Charlotte leave him, no matter how despicable the means.

The car sped away like lightning, while Charlotte sat by the roadside, feeling worse than she had imagined.

She thought that being away from Frederick would calm her emotions. But sitting there, Charlotte felt like she couldn't breathe, her breaths becoming more labored, gasping for air but getting very little, her hands and feet starting to tingle, and her fingers stiffening.
