Frederick's frown was almost imperceptible. He first glanced at Charlotte before saying, "What time does it start? I'm very busy today."

"How can you be busy? I asked you yesterday, and you said you had already turned away many people who came to inquire. How can you be busy? Frederick, do you not want to go with me?"

Serena didn't realize that her intrusive behavior had already deeply displeased Frederick.

Frederick's brows furrowed tightly, and there was a hint of ruthlessness in his eyes, but he didn't show it. Instead, he agreed very straightforwardly.

"Okay."

"Great, Frederick! I knew you were the best to me! I'll send you the address and time of the party later. I need to go get ready now. See you there."

Serena was very happy.

Charlotte gripped the car door handle tightly, looking at Frederick angrily.

"If you want to go, go by yourself. Let the driver take me home."

"I said, I won't allow you to leave my sight. You must stay by my side."

Frederick said domineeringly, lifting her chin with his hand, and forcing her to look at him.

"You shameless!"

Charlotte punched him in the chest. "I shouldn't have listened to you. I knew you had ulterior motives when you gave me that dress. This place is full of people from the entertainment industry. I didn't even put on makeup. Do you want to see me make a fool of myself?"

"You don't need makeup to be more beautiful than anyone else."

Frederick's tone was light, but his gaze was focused on her,making Charlotte blush.

She was just glad the car was dimly lit. Otherwise, it would be embarrassing to be so easly flustered by a few sweet words from him.

Frederick's car window was knocked on, and it was Serena.

She raised her voice, bending down to get closer to the window."Frederick,why dlidn't you get out? Do I have to come out and get you?"

Serena's voice was loud, clearly meant for the people around to hear.

She wanted all eyes on her, especially since a few minor characters had dared to say they didn't recognize her earlier.

Frederick rolled down the window, and Charlotte could no longer hide,being seen by everyone.

Serena's expression twisted for a moment when she saw Charlotte. "What are you doing here?"

Her tone was full of malice when she spoke to Charlotte. "Charlotte, don't force your way into circles you don't belong in. This is the entertainment industry, not a place for someone like you."

"Is that so?"

Charlotte replied coolly, "But if someone like you can get in, the standards can't be that high."

"You!"

Serena,frustrated by Charlotte, turned to Frederick and whined, "Frederick,didn't you promise to be my date? Can you make her leave?"

Charlotte rolled her eyes.

She didn't want to come in the first place. Frederick had tricked her into wearing a new dress and then went back on his word,bringing her here when he had promised to take her home from the Percy Group.

"I only promised to attend."

Frederick said indifferently, getting out of the car and walking around to the other side to open the door for Charlotte.

He extended his hand to invite Charlotte out, raising an eyebrow with a clear threat.

Charlotte was helpless, but since things had come to this point, there wasno need to be coy. She placed her delicate hand in Frederick's palm.

Serena's face turned pale, and she almost lost her balance.

Serena had spent a lot of time and effort on her appearance today to outshine everyone else. With Frederick's support, she believed she would be the most dazzling presence at the party.

But all her plans were ruined by Charlotte!
