So,normally, Charlotte would be here protecting Elodie right now. She'd usually take all the blame to keep Oliver from getting violent.

But today, Charlotte just didn't care.

Charlotte, tell your dad to stop. You always listento him."

Charlotte just stared at her coldly.

Her eyes were full of sarcasm. "Mom, I used to think it was wrong for Dad to hit you. But now I get it. It's just his way of showing love.So,just deal with it."

Elodie was stunned.

"How can you say that? Are you just going to watch him beat me?"

"If you don't want to get hit, you can get a divorce like I did. Instead of pressuring me, just get a divorce and fix the problem."

Elodie stammered a few words and then fainted from anger.

"Mom,are you okay?"

Juniper rushed over and then glared at Charlotte. "Charlotte, you know Mom's health isn't good. Why would you say that?"

"What did I say? I was just being honest." "You ungrateful daughter, I'm so disappointed in you." Oliver got angrier and finally almost commanded, "Anyway, I've set up a

dinner for tomorrow night with the president of Skyreach Group. You have to go, whether you like it or not. You're not part of the Percy Family anymore, and now you can only rely on the Russell Family. Since you're with us,you have to contribute."

Charlotte replied, "What about Juniper? Why doesn't she have to contribute?"

"How can you and Juniper be the same?"

Oliver stopped abruptly.

Oliver's face lit up with joy.

a divorce from Frederick? That's great."

"Of course it's true. If you don't believe me, you can check."

Oliver felt a huge relief. The reason he didn't want Charlotte to divorce Frederick right now was that the Russell Group had a bidding project that needed technical support from the Percy Group.

At this critical moment, losing the Percy Group's support would mean giving up the project.

Whether Charlotte was happy or content in her marriage was the last thing on Oliver's mind.

"If you want to reward me, how about giving me back my necklace? The one Juniper took when I came back from the countryside."

Charlotte seized the moment to make her request. She had never questioned her identity before, but now she felt like her background was a mystery. Charlotte could barely remember her childhood. The only thing that stuck with her was the clover-shaped pendant necklace she had always worn.

"I was just in a hurry."

Oliver said impatiently, "And Juniper was being too seIfish. It's just a necklace,give it to Charlotte."

Elodie disagreed.

"Honey! Have you forgotten who left that clover necklace? What if it's something valuable?"

"Keep your voice down."

Oliver immediately looked around guiltily, then lowered his voice and said."I said before, we're not to mention their matters again! Even if it's Charlotte's, so what?
